The Engage II Programme, a continuation of the Engage Programme, was expanded to include special schools (previously a separate Engage for Special Schools Programme), funded pre-school education settings and Education other Than at School (EOTAS) centres.  During 2021-22, ETI evaluated the Engage II Programme through scrutiny of planning documentation, observation of sessions, and discussions with staff and pupils.

This evaluation of DE’s Engage II Programme in schools, pre-schools and EOTAS centres focuses on how effectively the Engage II fundings was used to provide intervention programmes, in the form of one-to-one, small group or team-teaching support for pupils whose learning had been impacted by the periods of lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
