ETI’s Chief Inspector congratulates GCSE, AS and A Level students on their results

The Chief Inspector of the Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI), Faustina Graham, has congratulated students who received their GCSE, AS and A Level results this week.

The Chief Inspector paid tribute to the efforts of all teachers and learners who worked tirelessly throughout the unprecedented and challenging circumstances of the global pandemic to ensure our young people received the best possible education.

Recognising the difficulties, the Chief Inspector said: “After a year of very significant challenges for all, it is truly heart-warming to see young people achieve such great exam results in their general and vocational qualifications which allow them to progress to sixth form, further education or higher education, work-based learning or the world of work.

“Their grades are a testament to their focus, resilience, courage and perseverance as they overcame the many challenges the pandemic presented.

“Children and young people are at the heart of what we do and as we strive together to promote improvement, I would also like to commend the staff in our schools and colleges for their dedication and commitment to their students and for the instrumental role they played in the planning and implementation of the alternative awarding arrangements that were necessary for this year.

“As Chief Inspector of ETI, I would like to extend my congratulations to the students on behalf of all at ETI.

“Each student should be very proud of their achievements and ETI wishes them every success as they embark on their chosen pathway.”
